Well, with SubscribeStar's recent NSFW-TOS' change-scare*, and the continued censoring-landscape on all platforms -from social media to gallery sites, due to stupid ass Helen-Lovejoy-level'd international laws aiming to "protect the children"π**- it has become quite clear that I NEED to make even FURTHER efforts, not only to depend less on any of those places, but into making one of my very own to engage with y'all ^^ While I won't stop posting/offering-my-works as I currently do for the public and/or for subscribers 'cuz the lesson of "don't put your eggs in one basket" still rings true, I'm gonna expand my options into avenues outside those platforms.
Enter Neocities =3 I found about them a while ago, they feel like a brand-new-yet-familiar version of the glory days with Geocities back in the late-1990s/early-2000s. Creating a site there was on my back-burner for a while, but the time is now... granted my HTML/CSS skills are very rusty, but as I did back then, the best way to refresh and continue learning will be by doing it πͺ !
For starters, to make the transition more organic and seamless, for a while I'll be blending my Neocities' storage/pages with the current GoogleSite's setup I've. The cool thing is this way I can give access to my public artworks directly through this website too =D Also on top of that, ideally, I'll be able to enable subscriptions via direct payments -a la newsletters sent through direct e-mail interactions- ^^ In general, I'm aware this might "break" mobile navigation for a while until I fully move to Neocities, but as y'all know, desktop-view mode has always been my priority.
Hopefully this won't take long and won't disturb my drawing periods much, but frankly anything that helps me reach you with less stress and hurdles (like, this year has started rather super well for me, all things around considered X_x) usually translates into more motivation and ideas in the long road π ! As usual, thanks a lot for your understanding and support !
*I honestly dunno how seriously to take it, since it was mostly fear from the users, nothing directly stated by them per se;
**how about consequences for those involved in those ΞpstΞ΅in FilΞ΅s' discoveries instead, huh? that would be fuckin' nice β₯οΈ
